[Solved] Nexus Mod Manager - End-Of-Life
-
In the official forums of the Nexus Mod Manager I read that the Nexus Mod Manager is end-of-line.
See here: https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/5159340-nmm-is-currently-end-of-line-read-why-and-what-this-means/They also published a link to the sequel tool called Vortex (I am going to install it right now):
https://www.nexusmods.com/site/mods/1Please show a message that the Mod Manager is end-of-line and suggest to use Vortex instead.

The EoL has been set. But we can't (at current) recommend another product.
-
OK, then this issue is solved.
-
@Tom in the list of apps I see at WinAmp the text End-of-Life
So this information should also be shown at other products (like the Nexus Mod Manager). -
@olli_s Is Nexus Mod Manager not listed as EoL? The EoL flag is set on the rule.
Is there any other programs you know about that should be detected as EoL?
-
@tom Ah, now I know why.
Yes, that will be changed with the coming update. We made a special case for Safari and WinAMP - but that is not the way we will do it going forward.
So this with Nexus and a few other products that are EoL will be handled and displayed differently and more accurately soon. -

@Tom In the list of applications the Nexus Mod Manager is still not EoL.
Did you implement your changes, so all EoL products are shown accurate now? -
On the website of the Nexus Mod Manager (https://www.nexusmods.com) you see at the top right a button Install Vortex.
This opens the following URL: https://www.nexusmods.com/about/vortex/On this page you can read:
Nexus Mod Manager
Although we no longer support Nexus Mod Manager, for those that prefer to stick to NMM the last official release is still available. You can also find the newest community release on the GitHub page. This is the official statement that the Nexus Mod Manager is no longer supported.
So please set the Nexus Mod Manager to EoL.
And maybe you recommend to install Vortex instead. -
I watched a tutorial of Vortex and they said:
It [Vortex] is replacing the existing official mod mager "Nexus Mod Manager"

@OLLI_S It is correctly flagged now
-
Correct, I see EoL
