@Anselm This is a file search, why do you write (optional for total commander)?
-
Because Total Commander can use it.
Like indexer++ it parses the NTFS filesystem master files table directly to search the files (and additionally index them). Reading the master file table is much faster than scanning the folders using windows api. Therefore you can use it in TotalCommander.
-
But here Everything should be added as Everything because you can start is as separate product.
-
@OLLI_S I did not say anything about with which name it should be added.
-
You wrote in the title Everything (optional for total commander) so I thought that this is a very important information (something that needs to be considered when adding the product).
-
@OLLI_S If you check 'everything' in the "find file" dialogue of total commander, total commander will download and install everything. So it is some kind of bundle.
-
@Anselm
Everything can be downloaded and installed normally (in this case it is separate from Total Commander).
In my opinion @Tom should add detection rules for Everything (the stand-alone-version).As soon as Everything is detected, you will see if it is also detected on your system (you downloaded it via Total Commander).
I am sure it will be detected too.@Tom
Please note that Everything can be bundled with Total Commander.
So maybe the file path of Everything is an indicator if it is bundled with Total Commander or a stand-alone version.
But Everything can also be downloaded as portable version. -
@Tom I have Everything as portable version now within WSCC:
D:\PortableApps\PortableApps_WSCCPortable\Other Utilities\Everything.exeSo would be nice if Everything is detected.
-
@anselm Everything is now detected on my system properly.
So I mark the topic as Added and move it to the category Added App Requests.
