[Solved] Steam Client - Version not detected after Update to 4.62.99.22
-
Today I installed on my PC an update for the Steam Client (new version 4.62.99.22) but VulnDetect does not detect the installed version (version ? is shown)!
@Tom
This is what I mean by saying effort wasting.
The rules should be that stable that the version is detected correctly.
Or is it only shown after you have approved the update (checked that it is valid)?
Here the information extracted from the EXE file:
File name and path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steam.exe Product Name: Steam Client Bootstrapper Internal Name: steamcmd (buildbot_steam-relclient-win32-builder_steam_rel_client_win32@steam-relclient-win32-builder) Original Filename: steam.exe File Description: Steam Client Bootstrapper Company: Valve Corporation Legal Copyright: Copyright (C) 2010 Valve Corporation Legal Trademarks: Comments: File Version String: 04.62.99.22 File Version: 4.62.99.22 Product Version String: 01.00.00.01 Product Version: 1.0.0.1

I can inform you that the Steam, Origin, Chrome, TeamViewer, MS Office and a few others all released new builds or versions in the last 24 hours and they are all automatically added to our "To-Do" list. And within short time we will have confirmed these new rules. Steam is already added.

So you detect on my PC a new version of Steam and show a ? in the list of applications because you have to confirm the update?

@olli_s Yes, right now it works like that for some programs. Soon, this will be the case for less programs due to an upcoming change. But there will always be some where it will start with a "?", I presume that GeForce Experience could be one of those.

Cool, version detected correctly
