Thanks. This is now added. However, there is no immediate way to extract information about the product version, so we need reports on this from users, who sees the "?" in version.
Currently, only the latest version is detected correctly. -
Indeed the version number stored in the file version is strange (here I see rel_03_14/5ef5d67).
But I saw that the version number is shown in the Windows 10 Settings (in the list of installed applications) :Can you use this version number?
I hope that the version number is updated when I install a patch.
VulnDetect found GeForce Experience 3 times on my system:
- C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\NVIDIA GeForce Experience\NVIDIA GeForce Experience.exe
- C:\Users\All Users\NVIDIA Corporation\Downloader\PostProcessing\GFE\4ccc741fdd0ba2ac5593e823bdde3d30\GFExperience\NVIDIA GeForce Experience.exe
- C:\ProgramData\NVIDIA Corporation\Downloader\PostProcessing\GFE\4ccc741fdd0ba2ac5593e823bdde3d30\GFExperience\NVIDIA GeForce Experience.exe
Number 1. is the application folder where the application is installed into.
But 2. and 3. are downloader packages (so they should be ignored). -
One side note:
An other update manager detects version 64.3282.1731.5 (this is in the file version of the EXE file).
In Help -> About of GeForce Experience I see the version 3.14.0.139 (exactly what you display). So your information is more accurate
-
@olli_s Yes, you are right. But this information is not immediately available except in the UI and when you download it. That is why I would appreciate reports from you and other users, every time you see the "?" or other invalid version information for this product.
-
OK, so if there is a new version of GeForce Experience available then I will:
- post here the version number that is shown in Help > About
- post here the version number of the file version of the EXE
- do a full system scan immediately
-
You detect the version number correctly, so the issue is solved!
If a new version is released then I will create a new topic. -
So, it is finally time to revisit the ancient challenge with GeForce Experience.
I've deleted all the old rules for GeForce Experience and will attempt to recreate them, based on registry information (which was added not long ago to support patching).
Note: All results for GeForce Experience will look odd until I've added new rules.
-
Now NVIDIA GeForce Experience is detected and also the correct version number 3.16.0.122.
So the issue is really solved.
